ENNEAGRAM

The Enneagram is a system of relating 9 types of personalities.

There are Nine point of views and all people will find that they relate to one
         of these points of view.
  Once you have
determined your type, you can use
the system to improve yourself and improve your
 relationships with friends,
lovers, and everyone else on Earth!

Some may complain that they don't like being defined by a specific type or
   put into a box,
but you're not!  You're being put into a nine pointed star!
                                                               Ha Ha Ha!

Just remember that it is a beginning point of understanding, not an end point.
I am always eager to talk Enneagram with anyone who wants to.

Here is MY short summary of each personality type
(Maybe you don't recognize yourself by the title, but it is just a title!)

 MOVIE EXAMPLES:

Characters that make good Enneagram type examples.  Of course, this is just based on MY judgements to give you a referable example for the types, but none of these are the ultimate example.  But it’s a good place to start if you are interested.  Like, you can see a few movie examples for the 1 type and compare the different characters to see what qualities they all share and then you’ll know a little about what kind of person a 1 is.

And as always, if you think of a movie you’d like to add to the list, e-mail me!

The Perfectionist
The Odd Couple          Felix, Jack Lemmon, is a 1 with a 4 line.
He demands that everyone follow his rules, he wants to be validated for the good things he does.
Neat freak, cries easily when he doesn't get his way, focused on what's right and wrong.

Thelma & Louise          Louise, Susan Sarandon, is a 1.
Uses anal retentive ziplock bags for packing, always dressed and pressed for work.
Mad when things get off schedule, harder for her to relax and have fun.
She's the responsible one, but is frustrated with the burden.

Sex and the City          Miranda, Cynthia Nixon, is a 1.
Very rigid about the way she lives her life, really needs a routine to go through to be stable and happy
She sees the world and all in it as right and wrong (nothing inbetween).
Doesn't like to receive help from others, it's hard to gain her trust.
She is mostly pessimistic because the world can't live up to her standards.
(+Steve is a 9, and a 1-9 couple is common.  He balances out her nerosis with his more relaxed approach to life.  It takes him a while to get ambitious, but eventually he opens his own bar, it just took him a little bit longer than it would have taken Miranda if she was opening a bar).

Election          Tracy Flick, Reese Witherspoon, is a 1.  I will conceed, she may be a 3.
She is very eager to succeed because being the best and number one is important and right.
Being involved in everything and doing everything is what will make her a good person.
She knows she is the right one for the job, she wants to be good at everything.
Her hard work and lonliness as the the only serious person she knows eventually pays off.

The Mosquito Coast          Harrison Ford is a 1.
He is full of resentment for the consumeristic world of America and he has drive to invent things.
He's an idealistic father who wants to be self sufficient.  He goes to Honduras to start new.
After purchasing some land, he sets out to make a perfect society.
He orders around his own family and a bunch of other random jungle residents.
Much of the movie is made up of scenes of Harrison Ford walking by someone and shouting an order to them.  He must be in control and will not let anyone else control him.
